How to use OBSIDO® Body Cups at home

Cupping is no longer just an experience in the clinic. With OBSIDO® Body Cups you can create a luxurious and effective wellness routine at home, where you work with both skin, connective tissue and well-being.

In this guide, you will learn step-by-step how to get the most out of your Body Cups – safely, effectively and with results you can feel and see.

Why use Body Cups?

  • Stimulates blood circulation and gives the skin a glow

  • Relieves tension in muscles and connective tissue

  • Reduces fluid retention and drains waste products

  • Improves skin elasticity and can reduce cellulite

How to do it – step by step

Prepare the skin

You can use your Body Cups in two ways:

  • In the bath with your body wash – easy and effective without oil.

  • With a body oil – gives a smoother massage. However, always remember to rinse the oil off afterwards, as the suction cups also gently exfoliate dead skin cells from the skin's surface.

Choose your cup size

  • Large Body Cup : Buttocks, stomach and thighs.

  • Medium Body Cup : Stomach, upper arms and calves.

  • Small Body Cup : Chest, underarms and local improvement of scars.

Dynamic or static?

  • Dynamic cupping : When the suction cup slides over the skin in different movements – stimulates circulation and tissue.

  • Static cupping : When the suction cup sits still for a few minutes – provides a more intense suction and deeper effect on a specific area.

Removing the cup

  • Press the suction cup lightly again to release the suction effect.

  • Carefully lift the cup away from the skin.

Finishing

  • It is completely normal to experience redness or light marks – this typically disappears within a few days.

  • Drink plenty of water after treatment.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for the first 3–4 hours.

The three techniques we recommend

When working with Body Cups, always follow this order:

Zigzag movements

Start with quick, light zigzag movements. This warms up the tissue and makes the connective tissue more flexible.

Circular movements

Continue with overlapping circles – always in towards the body (e.g. from knee to groin or from elbow to armpit). This method provides a more intense stimulation of the connective tissue . The skin will often turn red here, and that is the point.

Sliding movements

Finish with calm, long strokes towards the center of the body. This acts as a lymphatic drainage , helping the body to get rid of excess fluid and leaving a feeling of lightness.

Important tips for beginners

  • Start gently and gradually increase the pressure.

  • 5–10 minutes per area is enough, 2–4 times a week.

  • Redness is normal and a healthy sign that blood circulation is activated.

  • Stop use if you experience pain or discomfort.

  • For the best results, you can combine your home practice with guidance from one of our professional Obsido Studio therapists , Sara Lorentsen or Tina.

Safety measures

  • Avoid cupping on varicose veins, open wounds, irritated or inflamed skin.

  • Pregnant women should always consult their healthcare provider before beginning cupping.

  • Listen to your body – OBSIDO® Body Cups are a wellness tool, and the treatment should feel safe and comfortable.

Make it a ritual

With OBSIDO® Body Cups, it’s not just about skin and connective tissue – it’s about creating a moment for yourself. Use them in the shower in the morning for a fresh start or as an evening ritual with oil and calm music. See it as an investment in your well-being, where you both feel and see results.
