DRY SKIN

The difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin lies in their causes and treatment:

• Dry skinis a skin type where the skin lacks natural oils (sebum). It feels tight, rough and can peel. Dry skin is often genetic, but can also be aggravated by factors such as age and climate. To treat dry skin, it is important to use rich, oil-based moisturizers that add fats to the skin.
  
• Dehydrated skinis a condition where the skin lacks water, not oil. It can feel tight, dull and have fine lines, even if the skin can otherwise be oily. Dehydrated skin can affect all skin types and is often caused by external factors such as weather, air conditioning or too little water intake. Treatment involves water-based moisturizers and ingredients like hyaluronic acid, which help the skin bind water.

In short: Dry skin lacks oil, while dehydrated skin lacks water.
